Below are the 20 highest value export products shipped from Mexico during 2017. Shown within brackets is the 4-digit harmonized tariff system code for each item.
- Cars: US$41.7 billion (up 32.7% since 2016)
- Automobile parts/accessories: $26.9 billion (up 2.7%)
- Trucks: $24.6 billion (up 5.1%)
- Computers, optical readers: $23.3 billion (up 13.3%)
- Crude oil: $19.9 billion (up 28.1%)
- Phone system devices including smartphones: $19.6 billion (up 18.7%)
- TV receivers/monitors/projectors: $13.3 billion (down -0.7%)
- Insulated wire/cable: $11.3 billion (down -0.3%)
- Electro-medical equipment (e.g. xrays): $7.1 billion (up 3.9%)
- Tractors: $6.7 billion (up 22.3%)
- Seats (excluding barber/dentist chairs): $6.6 billion (up 2.4%)
- Refrigerators, freezers: $4.9 billion (up 4.4%)
- Gold (unwrought): $4.4 billion (down -9.1%)
- Piston engine parts: $4.1 billion (up 3.3%)
- Electrical/optical circuit boards, panels: $4.1 billion (up 3.3%)
- Malt beer: $3.8 billion (up 33.9%)
- Electric motors, generators: $3.7 billion (up 29.7%)

- Air conditioners: $3.4 billion (up 10%)
Among these product categories, Mexican beer posted the greatest percentage increase in export sales from 2016 to 2017 via a 33.9% improvement.
In second-place were Mexican-made cars, an export product that increased in value by 32.7%.
Also moving ahead smartly were exported electric motors and generators with a 29.7% gain, followed by Mexican shipments of crude oil which appreciated 28.1%.
In contrast, exported piston engines (down -16.7%) and gold (down -9.1%) declined in value year over year.
