The overall value of imports into the United States provided by its Asian competitor dropped by an average -22.2% year over year from 2022 when America’s purchases from Chinese suppliers were valued at $575.7 billion.
On the other hand, the US exported $147.8 billion worth of products to China in 2023. That dollar amount equals about one-third (33%) compared to America’s total spending on all commodities imported from China, declining by -3.9% dip from 2022.
Consequently, America incurred a -$300.2 billion deficit trading goods with China during 2023.
Showcased below are the 100 most valuable imported and exported products exchanged by the United States and China during 2023.
This research is based on statistics using detailed four-digit Harmonized Tariff System codes.
Information in this article is presented in two searchable document databases for the top 100 products traded between the two North American countries.
