On the other hand, the US exported $143.5 billion worth of products to China in 2024. That dollar amount approached one-third (31%) compared to America’s total spending on all commodities imported from China, declining by a -2.9% dip from 2023.
Consequently, America incurred a -$319.1 billion deficit trading goods with China during 2024 up from -$300.2 billion in red ink for 2023.

Top US Imports from China
The following document database highlights the 100 most valuable goods that America imported from China in 2024.
These 100 import products attracted US$356.2 billion in American spending in 2024 or almost four-fifths (77%) of total US spending on imports from China.
By dollar value, imports into the United States from China equaled 13.8% of overall US imports from around the world in 2024. That percentage represents a reduction from 14.1% one year prior.
The fastest-growing US imports from China from 2023 to 2024 were electrical capacitators (up 163.3%), animal or vegetable fats or oils (up 34.4%), cars (up 50.5%), medication mixes in dosage (up 36.8%), machinery for making semi-conductors (up 34.4%), printed books and brochures (up 29.9%), then vacuum containers including flasks (up 29.2%).
Decliners impacting America’s spending on imported goods from China the most were led by Chinese-shipped table games and bowling equipment (down -33.4% from 2023), plastic tile or roll coverings (down -25.7%), vacuum cleaners (down -20.9%), electronic integrated circuits or microassemblies (down -20.2%), television receivers and transmitters or digital cameras (down -12%), motorcycles (down -10.2%), electrical machinery (down -7.9%), then new rubber tires (down -7.7%).
Top US Exports to China
The following document database focuses on the 100 leading products that American exporters sold to buyers located in China during 2024.
The itemized 100 US export products represent US$109.9 billion in American sales to China in 2024 or more than three-quarters (76.6%) of total US exports into China.
Exports from the United States to China equaled 7% of all US exported products sold around the world in 2024, down from 7.3% for the prior year.
The greatest increases among the top 100 US exports into China from 2023 to 2024 arose from sales of zinc ores and concentrates (up 393.2%), miscellaneous preserved or prepared meat (up 154.9%), hormones and miscellaneous steroids (up 133.1%), processed petroleum oils (up 115%), turbo-jets (up 79.4%), electronic integrated circuits or microassemblies (up 69.8%), miscellaneous measuring or testing machines (up 62.8%), natural sands (up 45.6%), then wheat (up 42.1%).
The severest setbacks among America’s sales of exported goods to China were declines in Chinese spending on imports of US corn (down -80% from 2023), unwrought platinum (down -60.3%), crude oil (down -53%), poultry meat (down -50%), medication mixes in dosage (down -44.5%), petroleum oil residues (down -44.4%) then diesel engines (down -32.6%).
